Alberta Denk Scholarship for Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass
DESCRIPTION $2,000 to a music major for study in string performance. Scholarship significantly funded through generosity of the Eleanor Hale Wilson Charitable Trust.
REQUIREMENTS Required Materials Checklist:
- Current resume
- Statement of Mu Phi Epsilon participation
- Most recent unofficial college transcript
- An audio recording 15-30 minutes in length, including a contemporary American work written after 1980, and contrasting works from different stylistic periods to fulfill the time requirement. Submission must be via links to YouTube or other comparable sites provided to the online application system (YouTube preferred, no Dropbox). Recordings in the Scholarship Application process must not be older than two years from the date of application.
- Copy of the score to the contemporary American work, if unpublished
- List of the recorded repertoire with the following information:
- Exact titles, opus numbers
- Composers’ names
- Timings
- A detailed budget
- Two current letters of recommendation
- $25 Application Fee
